You go to the market to buy a new device and come across three types: one that is running on Android, the other that is running on iOS and the another running on Windows. You are unable to decide between the two. You ask different people and get different answers. Those apple fanboys tell you to go with iOS, others tell you to go for android and some tell you Windows. So you become totally confused. So here is a guide for you to help you decide which OS will be the best for you.
ANDROID:
Jellybean 4.4 is the latest iteration of Android with a lot of features.
The user-interface is highly customisable with ability to put different widgets(kind of active mini-apps on the homescreen), launchers(kind of themes) etc. Two devices running the same version of android can look and feel totally different from each other. This high flexibility has also led to different skins being put over android by different manufacturers. HTC has its Sense UI whereas Samsung has it's Touchwiz.
Vast number of applications are available on android via the Google Playstore. Features like auto-update is also available. Media consumption is also very easy via a number of services like Google Play Music, Google Play Movies, Google Play books etc.
Conclusion: Android is for those enthusiastic people who like to play around with their devices alot, customise it to their hearts content and just have fun with their devices. It's just perfect for those superusers out there.
iOS:
IOS has been known for it's simple and clean design. It is very easy to use to minimum scope for customisation. The icons are all on the different homescreens. This make the usage of device fairly simple with hardly any learning curve.
The App Store is a the best out there with the most number of apps and developers prefer iOS due to higher returns. The media consumption is also unmatched with iTunes services.
Conclusion:
iOS is for those who like a simple and easy to use. It is best for those who are new to using any kind of device or those who have other iDevices. It provides a totally lag-free experience with smooth framerates. The app store and iTunes delivers unparallelled service.
WINDOWS PHONE:
Windows Phone is a new and refreshing OS based on live tiles. The look is really refreshing and gives a fresh look to a device. Customisation is quite minimalistic. The live tiles are resizable and their colour can be changed. The lockscreen wallpaper can also be changed, but that's about it.
The windows app store is a relatively new store with fever apps. This is the main drawback to this, otherwise good OS. It's really smooth with hardly any lag. Media consumption is also limited.
Conclusion:
This OS is for those who are either new to smart phones or just need something fresh, something other than Android or iOS. The experience is really smooth and on a budget, this is better than the competition as it is light on resources.
I hope now it will be easier for you to decide which operating system suits you the best. Do share this post with your friends so that they also know which OS suites them the best.
