The week was quite action packed with many flagships and many other highly anticipated devices being launched. If you missed all the action, don't worry. Over the span of two posts, we will cover all the major device and service announcements made in the MWC 2014. So, without wasting any more time, let's start with the major devices launched.

SAMSUNG:
Samsung made major announcements by announcing it's next flagship along with three gear devices. Samsung also announced that it has sold 200 Million Galaxy S phones. First let's talk about the much awaited flagship from the smartphone giant.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is an increment to the Samsung Galaxy S4 in every sphere(howsoever little it is). It has a larger 5.1 inch display vs the 5 inch display on the S4. Has has an improved processor along with a water-resistant and dust-resistant body. To know all about the latest flagship from Samsung, read the following our post about Samsung Galaxy S5.
The other three major devices to be launched by Samsung were the three Gear devices launched by it. The biggest change from the previous iteration was the dropping of android and use of more resource friendly OS like Tizen. The three gears are the Gear 2, the Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit. To know more about these read our post Samsung Gear Devices.
SONY:
Sony also launched it's flagship cellphone along with it's android tablet in this year's MWC. The Z2 has a 5.2 inch Full HD display and pack in a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 along with 3GB of RAM. This makes the phone a powerhouse and should be a smooth as any thing out there(Actually it should be smoother!). The camera is a 20.7 MP shooter on the back. We have to wait and see what it is like.
The Xperia Z2 tablet is the thinnest and lightest android tablet around with some amazing specs up it's sleeves. The display is a really nice one too. This tablet gives the IPAD Air a real fight due to it's dimensions and weight. This also comes with the same processor and RAM as the Z2 so performance should be really nice. Let's see how it is received by the market.
Nokia:
Nokia has been all Windows in terms of mobile operating system. People have long wanted Nokia to launch an android phone which would certainly be on top of their priority list. Though it did not launch any sort of flagship, Nokia launched three devices based on Android Jellybean(4.1) operating system. The three devices are Nokia X, the Nokia X+ and the Nokia XL. Though these devices are based on the android platform, these don't seem and feel like one. These are highly influenced by Windows and Asha operating systems. These phones do not have Google Play Store. Instead they have a store developed by Nokia itself. The interesting thing is that, though these devices don't come with Play Store pre-installed, they support the installation of apps through their apks from other cellphones. Stay tuned for a detailed post about the Nokia X series.
LG:
LG introduced many new devices to the market.
The LG G PRO 2 leads the way with a 5.9 inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 800 processor along with 3 GB of RAM. It boasts a 13 MP camera along with enhanced Optical Image Stabilization(OIS+). It also comes with LG features like Knock ON and Knock Code. Only time will tell, whether this is able to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
Next in line is the LG G2 mini. It is a 4.7 inch device with a meager qHD display resolution. The bezels on the phone are really small and the phone is really light at just 121 gms which makes it really easy to handle the device. It comes with a 1.2 Ghz quad core processor along with 1 GB of RAM.
Other devices launched were the F70, and three phones of the L III series namely the L90, the L70 and the L40. The F70 and the L70 are similar devices with a 4.5 inch display. The difference lies in the processor and the connectivity. The F70 comes with a 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon 400 Quad-core CPU and LTE connectivity whereas the L70 comes with a Snapdragon 200 which is a dual core processor and does not have LTE support.
The L90 is much like the L9 with a 4.7 inch qHD display, a 8 MP primary and a 5 MP secondary camera. It has a Snapdragon S4 quad core chipset along with 1GB of RAM and 2540 mAh battery.
Last but not the least the L40 has a 3.5 inch display with a resolution of HVGA giving it a pixel density of around 160 ppi. It comes with a Snapdragon 200 dual core 1.2 Ghz processor along with 512 MB of RAM.
All of these phones come with Android 4.4.2 KITKAT which should facilitate these devices to run smoothly.
HTC:
HTC did not do much in this years MWC with launching only two devices namely the Desire 816 and the Desire 610. The Desire 816 flaunts a 5.5 inch 720 HD display powered by the Snapdragon 400 1.5 Ghz quad core processor along with 1.5 GB RAM. It flaunts a 13 MP camera, a 5 MP front camera, 8 GB of internal storage with expandable storage and a 2600 mAh battery.
The HTC Desire 610 flaunts a 4.7 inch qHD display and is powered by a 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1 GB of RAM. It has a 8 MP primary and a 1.3 MP secondary camera along with 8 GB internal storage. Expansion is supported by a micro sd card and the device has a 2040 mAh battery.
Interestingly, HTC hasn't mentioned which version of Android these devices run. One more interesting fact is that both these devices have front facing stereo speakers.
The other devices and services launched would be dealt with in the next post so be patient.
